public class FormDialog
extends JDialog

Provided with an XML document as a form template, generates a JDialog form that can be queried for its content as an XML document which fills out the template. Most of the meat for this comes from the FormPanel class; this is just a dialog wrapper.

Constructor for dialog window, provided with the root element of an XML document providing its specifications, using defaults for size and upper-center placement. The Strings cid and nid are respectively the Collection and Node ID of the dialog source.

Constructor for dialog window, provided with an optional reference to its parent DocumentView and the root element of an XML document providing its specifications. Will set the size and location according to the provided Dimension size and location respectively. If either are null, default size and upper-center placement will be used. The Strings cid and nid are respectively the Collection and Node ID of the dialog source.

Parameters:

root - the root of the form document

cid - the collection ID of the source record

nid - the node ID of the source record

size - the suggested size

relativeTo - the object to place the dialog relative to

Return the embedded FormPanel.

displayForm

public static FormPanel displayForm(String cid,
                                    String nid,
                                    XNode xnode)

Shows a FormDialog for XNode ID nid of Collection ID cid. If xnode is null, the form will be opened from the database using the respective IDs. This static method handles its own errors, so no exceptions are thrown.
