Message From The Cave


Okay. Noting that my last blog entry was November, it might appear that nothing has been happening. Actually, too much has been happening. Like Osama, I've been in a cave. I'm not yet out of the cave. I've been working hard enough that my body has started fighting back, which has forced me to slow down a bit. I've now experienced the UK's NHS firsthand.

There've been a lot of changes since November, infrastructure-level things like finally upgrading to a new database (Xindice 1.1), rewriting problematic areas like Note handling, getting the ontology editor almost functional, building in support for Faceted Classification, and for the past few weeks I've been building the Composer feature, that allows one to create a composite XHTML document provided with a sequence of content nodes, which can be in plain text, wiki text, HTML or XHTML. The wiki text is an extension of Augmented Plain Text, something Ceryle's had for a long time, as I've long believed there needed to be a simpler way of authoring XHTML.
